How it works

About this tool
Picking teams by captains leaves someone chosen last. Random teams are faster and kinder, and nobody can say the split was rigged.
Teams always differ by one player at most. Use it for five-a-side football, group work in class, pub quiz tables or board game nights.
Frequently asked questions
+Is it really random?
Yes. Results come from your browser's secure random number generator (the same kind used for encryption), and are spread evenly. The animation is only for fun; the result is chosen fairly before it plays.
+What if the players don't divide evenly?
Some teams get one extra player. Team sizes never differ by more than one.
+Can I keep the same list for next week?
Tap “Share this list” and save the link. It opens with your players already filled in.
