About this tool
Date maths is easy to get wrong in your head: months have different lengths, leap years add a day, and weekends don't count for work deadlines. This calculator does it on calendar dates, so the answer never shifts because of a clock change.
It shows the same gap several ways at once: total days, weeks and days, months and days, working days (Monday to Friday) and hours. That covers most real questions, from “how long is my notice period?” to “how old is the baby in weeks?”.
Tips
- Notice periods and deliveries usually count working days; use that number.
- For hotel nights, don't tick “count the end date”. For holiday days off, do.
- Public holidays differ by country, so they aren't removed from working days.
Frequently asked questions
+Does it include the start date?
The number of days counts the gap between the two dates. Tick “Count the end date too” to include both days.
+Are weekends excluded?
The total includes every day. The working days figure leaves out Saturdays and Sundays.
+Does it handle leap years?
Yes. It works on real calendar dates, so 29 February is counted when it exists.
