- 3Ten questions a round from 37 countries.
About this quiz
European capitals catch people out in two ways: famous cities that aren't capitals (Zurich, Geneva, Istanbul, Barcelona) and capitals that sound alike (Bratislava and Ljubljana, Riga and Tallinn, Budapest and Bucharest).
This quiz uses only European capitals as wrong answers, which is exactly what makes those mix-ups show up, and the fastest way to fix them.
Tips
- Switzerland's capital is Bern, not Zurich or Geneva.
- Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia; Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia.
- The Baltic capitals run north to south: Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius.
Frequently asked questions
+Which European capitals are hardest?
Ones that sound alike, like Bratislava and Ljubljana, and countries whose biggest city isn't the capital, like Switzerland (Bern).
+Why isn't Luxembourg in the capitals quiz?
Its capital is also called Luxembourg, which makes a give-away question, so it's only in the flags quiz.
